D-GROUPS LAUNCH IN AUGUST - SIGN UP TODAY!

what is a d-group?

A D-Group is a gender-specific group of 3–5 people where you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Spend meaningful time in Scripture and prayer
  • Encourage one another and put God’s Word into practice
  • Build trusted, confidential relationships
  • Grow more confident in sharing the gospel
  • Take part in guiding the group’s conversations

D-Groups help us live out Belle Aire’s mission to:

  • Love Jesus deeply
  • Share the Gospel boldly
  • Make Disciples intentionally

Fast Facts

WHO will be in the D-Group with me?

D-Groups are comprised of 3-5 people of the same gender in similar life stages OR are intergenerational.
WHERE do D-Groups meet?
D-Groups can meet wherever you want! Some places you can meet are:
  • A room on Belle Aire's campus
  • A group member's home
  • A coffee shop, park, restaurant, etc.
WHEN do D-Groups meet?

D-Groups can meet whenever you want! You can meet any day, any time.
  • If free childcare is needed, your group can meet at church on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 7:30pm during the fall or spring semesters. Also benefit from a great Fellowship Meal starting at 4:45pm!
  • D-Groups officially launch in August, but you can start or join a D-Group at any point in the year
HOW LONG do D-Groups meet together?

D-Groups commit to meet for a year from their start date, which enables group members to build meaningful, deep relationships.

The hope is for D-Group members to grow in their ability to facilitate discussion throughout the year and eventually facilitate their own unique D-Group.
WHAT do D-Groups "study"?

D-Groups follow Belle Aire's Bible reading plan at any given time.

This year, during our Year of Prayer, Belle Aire is reading through the New Testament using Prayer Journaling, which invites you to engage with three questions each time you read:
1. What was the most meaningful scripture you read today?
2. Reword the scripture into a prayer of response to God.
3. What does God want you to do today in response to the
scripture?

Following Belle Aire's reading plan allows D-Group members to engage in rhythms they're already practicing and encourage each other to remain faithful in their personal devotion.

See "What is a D-Group?" for more info on what else D-Groups focus on during the week and in their meetings!

What's a facilitator?

Each D-Group has someone who facilitates the group.

What a facilitator DOES do:
  • helps guide weekly conversations
  • encourages and supports group members
  • creates opportunities for others to participate in leading
  • helps members grow in confidence as disciple-makers and prayerfully consider facilitating a future D-Group

What a facilitator does NOT do:
  • spends hours each week preparing a lesson
  • lectures for 1.5 hours to the group
  • single-handedly leads every aspect of the D-Group

Training, materials, and ongoing support are provided to facilitators to help ensure success!

In short: being a facilitator is not an intimidating, scary, or overwhelming time commitment, but it is an important part of ensuring a healthy and growing D-Group. ANY Christian who wants to grow in their faith with others can be a facilitator!

Want to be a facilitator of your D-Group? Indicate that in the sign-up form!
Already formed a D-Group and know when & where you're meeting? Register your group so you can receive materials and support!
