WHY D-GROUPS?

For us to mature and grow in our walk as Christians it is necessary for us to serve and seek the Lord in a multitude of ways.  One such way is through worship, which is accomplished by attending and participating in our corporate worship services.  The second way is through fellowship, which is done through our Life Groups where we fellowship and study God’s Word with others in a similar life stage as ourselves.  The third way is through Discipleship, which is why we have D-groups.  They are more than just a Bible study group; they are a means of holding ourselves and each other accountable and in-turn growing in our intimacy with the Lord.

D-Group Basics
  • Groups should plan to meet a minimum of 30 weeks each year.  There is no set schedule because life does happen, but it is recommended to follow the church schedule for simplicity and includes breaks at holidays and over the summer.
  • Each group will be provided with 4 Bible reading plans to choose from for their group.  All group members will complete the same reading plan for consistency.
  • Additionally, groups will be provided with memory verses.  One verse for each week is meant to be memorized by all members for multiple reasons, but the chief among these being accountability and storing God’s word in our hearts. There will also be tips for scripture memorization and suggestions for additional scriptures for newer/new believers.
  •  Meetings will typically last about 1 to 1 ½ hours and follow a simple format.  There will be times for memory passages, discussion, fellowship, and prayer.
We are still in need of women and men D Group Leaders. Please fill out information at the link below to be a leader. Participant sign-up will begin on January 7.

There will be a training session for leaders on Sunday afternoon, January 7 and D-groups will begin the week of January 14.
